I thank you for your support and vote electing me in 2010 and re-electing me in 2014 as well as your recent vote advancing me to the runoff election scheduled for May 22, 2018.
Early voting is set for May 14th thru May 18. It is imperative that you vote early because bad weather or unexpected emergencies can keep you from casting your vote on election day, and in this tight race, every single vote counts. Only 7% of eligible voters voted in the March 6th primary, and even less are expected to vote in the runoff. Your Vote Counts! Please Call your like-minded family and friends to get out and vote for me during early voting.
This is a court that deals with issues that can impact your everyday life. Traffic tickets, juvenile crimes, school disruptions, Class C criminal misdemeanor charges and trial; civil lawsuits and trials for money damages for all civil causes of action such as injuries, auto accidents, unpaid loans, breach of contracts , all forms of negligence, evictions, magistration of prisoners, search warrants, property seizure hearings, dangerous dog determinations, Occupational Drivers License hearings and weddings are all handled here. It’s a busy place with a lot to know!
This is no place for beginners to learn on the job! The law does not require a Judge to be an attorney by education, but you should. Non-Lawyers are not the best qualified for this job; It takes them years to get it right. You want an experience Litigation Attorney running this court, and You have that in Judge Jeff Williams. My opponent in this runoff is not an attorney. I have 36 years experience as an attorney; 7 of which have been as a judge in this very court. My opponent has zero years as an attorney and zero years as a Judge – none! Who would you prefer to be ruling on your case for a fair and just legal decision? If the Judge gets it wrong, you have to start all over again with an appeal if you are to have any justice in your case.
Don’t put yourself or your neighbors through that expensive, time consuming and worrisome ordeal; vote to re-elect the most experienced and competent candidate, me, Judge Jeff Williams as your Justice of the Peace.
I’m a life-long conservative Republican, who practiced law in Houston for nearly 30 years before closing my law office to serve as your Justice of the Peace. I will continue to render competent, honest, fair and ethical justice, as well as enforce the sound stewardship that your tax dollars deserve.
Judge Jeff Williams
Harris County Justice of the Peace
Precinct 5, Place 2
